Hello GSDCGNH Members;
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day and took a few minutes to remember
those that made it possible.
Since February, Barbara Newton and I have been checking out sites and
working with Towns to secure a site for the Obedience Matches. In April,
Richard Lewis and I checked out Eisenhower Park in Milford. With some
outside influence and much correspondence and phone calls we have secured
Eisenhower Park, Lower Level for our three Matches (June, July and August).
We also have that location for a Temperament Test in September. The matches will be “Timed Matches” whereby you can train or do a run thru during your allotted time in the ring. We are also offering BH practice, obedience segment only. AKC has granted their “special sanction” for us to hold these classes at all three matches, however Rally and Conformation are not offered and do not come under this sanction.
The first match will be Sunday June 9th (see the attached flyer). Which is prior to our June meeting. It is being advertised in the MSB. If you are interested in Judging (should an exhibitor want a judge in the ring) please contact me. Also stewards will be needed as well as any help for set-up and take-down. The match is open to all breeds and mixed breeds. The BH is for “Working Dogs” only.
The dates are as follows: All dates are on a Sunday. June 9th, July 14th,
August 4th - Temperament Test will be held September 22nd …. More info and flyer will be coming.

This year, once again, the German Shepherd Dog Club of Gtr New Haven is
supporting the GSD entry at one of the largest All Breed shows in the
Northeast, The Greenwich Kennel Club in Norwalk CT, on Saturday June 8th. This
show is one of 4 in the area with the others being the Taconic Hills Kennel
Club on Thurs and Friday and the Longshore-Southport Kennel Club on Sunday,
all held at Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown NY.
We have had majors for the last 3 or 4 years and they always give us a
nice ring, even bigger than the group ring if we can pull a good entry. This
years judge is Sue Godek who did an outstanding job at last years Canadian
National and we are all looking forward to seeing her judge our dogs. The
closing date is May 22 at noon and the show Superintendent is MB-F. Their

Friday Night is “GSD Club Night” ….. GSDCGNH now offers to all GSDs 2 hours of organized floor time at ODTCW in Oxford. This is an opportunity to practice what you are learning in your obedience classes. More details in the April Meeting Notice - (PDF OR WORD format ).
