We are a Connecticut based German Shepherd Dog Club. The only AKC German Shepherd Specialty Club in CT. Our members participate in Breed, Obedience, Rally-O, and many other activities. Come and join us at one of our events or meetings!

AUGUST Meetings

Hi Club members. We plan on getting together on Sunday the 28th for some dog training and socialization at the Newtown Fairfield Hills site at 12:30 if enough people are interested. Please let us know if you can make it and I will respond to everybody later on Saturday if we have enough members and dogs to have the session. If we do I will send directions.

So we will have our little class with 4 maybe 5 dogs at the Fairfield Hill Complex in Newtown CT. Go to exit 11 and turn left off exit toward Rt 25. At stoplight turn left into complex. Make 2nd left and follow around to big tree on left next to soccer fields. -- POSTED 8/27/2016

Just a reminder. We are again holding our Board meeting at the Riverdale Resturant in Shelton CT, Gather at 7pm for dinner and meeting to start at 7:30pm or as soon as recording secretary is available for taking minutes. Regular meetings will resume in September at the Waterbury Dog Training Center in Oxford.

Reminder, Our Temperment Test is being held the same day as our club picnic which is August 21 at Old Mine Park in Trumbull. Please bring your dogs and get your TC and enjoy a nice day with dogs and friends to boot. Also don't forget our conformation and obedience match on Sept 4th Labor Day weekend. Volunteers needed for obedience work and help around the rings.

Mission Statement

(a) To encourage and promote the QUALITY breeding of pure-bred German Shepherd Dogs and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

(b) To urge members and breeders to accept the Standard of the Breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only Standard of excellence by which German Shepherd Dogs shall be judged.

(c) To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the Breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials and performance events.

(d) To conduct sanctioned matches, licensed specialty shows, obedience trials, performance events and any other event for which the club is eligible under the Rules and Regulations of the American Kennel Club.
